Is this a good deal?

I know nothing about numismatics. I saw this ad on craigslist and the prices seem way high. Am I wrong, or just uninformed?

I have for sale 4 Gold coins. I've had these awhile, time to SELL!

Current value listed at the PCGS site is $13,950. I am looking to sell these with out paying any commission or TAX, and am willing to let them go for 10% under this listed price!

Please Only serious Buyers, I don't have time for Scams, and under bidders. These are VERY nice NGC and PCGS Coins for anyone that wants them.

Cash Only - NO Trades I'd like to sell as a set, but would consider selling separate for the PCGS listed price

Here is the list and links to the PCGS site for each.

1908 - $2.5 Indian MS64 - $2100 - http://www.pcgs.com/prices/PriceGuideDetail.aspx?c=759

1908D - $5 Indian MS64 - $6500 - http://www.pcgs.com/prices/PriceGuideDetail.aspx?c=771

1913 - $10 Indian MS64 - $3700 - http://www.pcgs.com/prices/PriceGuideDetail.aspx?c=65

1911D - St. Gaudens $20 - $1650 http://www.pcgs.com/prices/PriceGuideDetail.aspx?c=67

Email me we'll talk...... Gary

Re: Is this a good deal?

The prices are taken directly from the most recent PCGS price listings, and are fairly accurate. Most people would probably try to pay a little less, though.

Re: Is this a good deal?

numismatics aside, why are you thinking of buying these ? ( if i may ask )

1 resale in the future to a coin collector

after TSHTF*, people may not care about numismatic value, just how many gold ozs

2 gold investment for post-SHTF

seems pricey if you're just looking for gold ozs

* - if you believe SHTF is coming

imho

I'm not buying these, I'm strictly bullion. I just saw the ad in the local craigslist and wanted to ask the numismatic crowd here at GIM if these prices are typical.

I understand a 1000 yr old coin being that expensive, but a 90 yr old coin? :confused_ma:

I see it the same way. That is why I am stricktly into bullion and not numismatic investing. Although I prize old coins I just don't see the values that most investors pay as realistic. To each his own. I guess if I was rich then it would be a different matter.

Unless he finds a diehard and I mean DIEHARD fan of the coin He will NEVER get anything even remotley close to those prices listed by PCGS/NGC.

People are wising up IMO.

IMVHO it is a ripoff, keep shopping around.

Re: Is this a good deal?

The PCGS and NGC prices are retail prices...that a rip-off coin shop operation would charge. The real "market value" of slabbed US gold is what ebay sellers charge.
